In Ukraine, farmers are actively submitting applications for temporary storage of grain, known as sleeves. To date, 2,052 applications for receiving sleeves with a capacity of 200 tons each have been registered in the State Agrarian Register. This is reported by "ProAgro Group" with reference to the information of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. Applications will be accepted until October 6 inclusive.
Sleeves are intended for agricultural producers who cultivate from 50 to 10 thousand hectares of land. The terms of the program cover the regions with the greatest need for crop storage, in particular the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernihiv regions. The largest number of applications was submitted by farmers from the Mykolaiv region, where they were counted 451, followed by Kharkiv region with 340 applications and Dnipropetrovsk region with 326 applications.
Minister of Agrarian Policy Vitaliy Koval noted that assistance to farmers working in front-line territories is one of the main tasks of the ministry. For three years, they face many challenges, but they continue to sow and harvest. In particular, significant destruction of infrastructure due to military operations makes it difficult to store and process grain, making this support particularly important.
The use of sleeves for grain storage will allow farmers to store the crop more efficiently, improving its quality and reducing the risk of losses. This will also ensure the possibility of selling products in more favorable conditions, because timely storage allows you to avoid losses from spoilage.
Given the situation in Ukraine, such support programs are necessary for the survival of agricultural producers and the recovery of the agricultural sector. Vitaly Koval called on farmers to actively use the opportunities provided by the ministry and submit applications on time.
It is expected that the program for collecting applications for obtaining sleeves for grain storage will contribute to increasing the sustainability of agricultural production in the conditions of modern challenges. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy is ready to support farmers and respond to their needs to ensure stability in the country's food security.
