  • Odessa Port Goes Digital: New DocPort Platform Improves Logistics and Reduces Business Costs
    Опубликовано: 2025-05-29 13:03:25

One of the key maritime hubs of Ukraine — Odessa Port — has launched the DocPort digital platform, which is designed to significantly change the approach to organizing logistics and administrative processes in the port industry. This innovative system, developed by the Ukrainian Seaports Authority (USPA), has become the next stage in the digital transformation of domestic port infrastructure after its successful implementation in the ports of Reni, Izmail and Chornomorsk.

According to the Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine, DocPort is focused on comprehensive automation of document flow between all participants in port logistics. This allows you to significantly reduce the time for processing vessels and cargo, reduce the amount of paperwork and strengthen control over the execution of operations thanks to an electronic signature.

One of the main advantages of DocPort for business is the reduction of vessel servicing time — on average from 1 to 6 hours. Operators also gain access to expedited exit documents, which is important for meeting delivery schedules. Transparency and reliability of procedures are increased by recording the actions of responsible persons in a digital environment.

In addition, the implementation of DocPort makes it possible to increase the port's throughput by 3–5% without the need for additional investments in infrastructure. The platform makes it easy to add new participants in the logistics chain thanks to an open API - this creates a flexible digital environment for all participants in maritime transportation.

Other functional capabilities of the system include regulating queues at the port entrance, which helps to avoid congestion. DocPort also integrates with the "Single Window for International Trade" of the State Customs Service of Ukraine. This significantly reduces the waiting time of vessels that do not carry out cargo operations, but must undergo a number of control procedures.

The next step in digital modernization will be the launch of the DocPort marine module in the port of Pivdenny, which is scheduled for June-July 2025. This module will ensure seamless electronic data exchange between maritime agents and shore services, opening up new opportunities for effective management of maritime transportation in Ukraine.
