Winter crops in Ukraine are under the threat of soil and early post-emergence pests, which can significantly damage the initial stages of plant growth and development. Ukravit experts emphasize that controlling these pests is an important component of ensuring high yields of winter crops. They recommend choosing proven insecticide treatments and not saving on their use.

"From sowing to emergence, winter grains and rapeseed are particularly vulnerable to pests. Soil pests can damage the seeds and the root system of young seedlings. Early post-germination species can exert their harmful effects on plants by gnawing on seedlings. In order to reduce the negative impact of these pests and ensure high yields, a comprehensive approach is needed, including agrotechnical measures, high-quality soil cultivation, regular weed control, and insecticide treatment," emphasizes Oleksandr Myhlovets, Head of Agronomy Department at Ukravit.

For the treatment of winter cereals and rapeseed, Ukravit recommends using the insecticide Exor (thiamethoxam, 600 g/l). The active ingredient of this insecticide is characterized by a high rate of absorption and movement by seeds and young growths of winter cereals. It blocks the pest's nicotinic receptors responsible for recognizing acetylcholine molecules, which leads to the termination of nerve impulse transmission and, consequently, to the death of the pest.

Due to the high solubility of the active ingredient, Exor provides long-term protection of the root system and vegetative part of plants. This insecticide helps to control pests such as bread beetle, aphids, cicadas, cereal flies, wireworms and others on winter cereals. In rapeseed, it is a reliable measure of protection against wireworms, false wireworms, larvae of May beetles, cruciferous fleas, cryptic aphids and aphids. Importantly, Exor does not adversely affect seed quality, so it can be used immediately before sowing.
