For the 2025 sowing campaign, 418 Ukrainian seed producers have declared their readiness to provide farmers with 500 thousand tons of seed material. Production includes both domestic and foreign selection, as well as imported seeds. This information was published by the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy of Ukraine.

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, among the registered producers, 372 specialize in seeds, and 46 - in planting material. The declared volume of seed production provides for covering the basic needs of the agricultural sector to ensure a successful sowing campaign.

Among the key crops, the largest amount of seeds is prepared for wheat - 150.6 thousand tons. Corn ranks second in terms of volume – 153 thousand tons (equivalent to 6.8 million sowing units). 41.8 thousand tons are reserved for barley, which will also significantly satisfy the demand of farmers.

A significant part of the seed fund is occupied by oilseeds. Thus, producers declared 34.6 thousand tons of sunflower seeds (9.6 million sowing units) and 981 tons of rapeseed seeds (equivalent to 245 thousand sowing units). The popularity of these crops is due to high demand in the domestic and foreign markets.

In addition, 49 thousand tons of soybean seeds and 40 thousand tons of potato planting material have been prepared for the sowing campaign. These crops remain important for meeting both domestic needs and export opportunities of Ukrainian agricultural products.

Thus, the declared volumes of seeds fully cover the projected needs of domestic farmers. Thanks to an integrated approach that includes the use of both Ukrainian and foreign selection, the 2025 sowing campaign has every chance of being successful even in the face of challenges for the agricultural sector.
