In Ukraine, a case of African swine fever (ASF) has been reported in one of the state farms of the Kalynivka city territorial community in the Khmilnyk district of Vinnytsia region. This was reported by the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in Ivano-Frankivsk region, citing the Main Directorate of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in Vinnytsia region.

The ASF outbreak already requires immediate measures to localize and eliminate it. To this end, a meeting of the state emergency antiepizootic commission was held at the district state administration. The meeting decided to approve the ASF elimination plan, and defined the boundaries of the epizootic center and the protection and surveillance zone.

Urgent measures are being taken to localize and prevent further spread of the ASF virus in the epizootic area in accordance with the guidelines for the prevention and control of African swine fever.

This situation requires effective measures and joint efforts to prevent the further spread of ASF among pigs. The State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection and other relevant authorities continue to work to eliminate the outbreak and preserve the pig herd in Vinnytsia region.
