Prices for live slaughter pigs in Ukraine show a certain increase, but this trend is not observed in all regions of the country. According to the Ukrainian Pig Association, the weighted average purchase price of pigs increased by 1% at the end of June.

According to the Association, the previous week's trading ended with a slight increase in prices for live pigs. In some regions, such as the Center, West and South, operators purchased pigs by 1-2 UAH per kilogram more expensive than the previous week. At the same time, prices remained stable in the East. The weighted average purchase price amounted to UAH 82.8 per kilogram, which is 1% higher than the previous week.

Representatives of the meat processing industry note that there is currently relatively stable demand for pork, and the process of selling products is going smoothly. At the same time, they do not observe a significant surplus of commercial pork and note that it is difficult to purchase additional volumes after the end of the auction in most regions.

In general, procurers believe that supply and demand for pork are relatively balanced, and there are currently no specific prerequisites for lowering prices for the purchase of pigs. However, much depends on the further development of the market situation and changes in supply and demand conditions for pork.

The continued positive trend in pork prices may be due to rising feed costs and other factors affecting pork production in the country. The dynamics of pork prices remains quite unstable, and producers should be prepared for changes in the market and look for ways to maintain their competitiveness.

It is currently impossible to predict the exact future dynamics of pork prices, but by observing market trends and maintaining stable demand for products, farmers can effectively respond to market challenges and secure their position in the pork industry.
