Butter prices in Ukraine continue to rise, setting new records on the domestic market. According to the analytical agency "Infagro", the high cost of butter is the result of a number of factors, in particular the foreign economic situation and changes in the world market.

Ukraine is actively engaged in both exports and imports of butter. However, due to high prices on world markets, in particular for basic supplies, the export of Ukrainian butter has become more attractive. At the same time, due to the high cost of the imported product, butter imports to Ukraine have decreased significantly. These two factors contributed to the reduction of goods on the domestic market and an increase in butter prices.

Currently, it is difficult to find butter cheaper than 100 hryvnia per pack in Ukrainian retail chains. For many middle-income consumers, such prices are too high. In this regard, many buyers have begun to look for more affordable alternatives, in particular various types of spreads that offer a much lower cost.

Infagro experts note that the situation on the external butter market is changing very quickly and unstable. However, even given the recovery of demand on external markets, butter prices in Ukraine are unlikely to decrease. The supply of butter on the domestic market remains limited, which also contributes to high prices.

Maksym Fasteev, a partner in Infagro projects, predicts that butter prices will remain high throughout the winter. He notes that demand for the product will increase during the New Year holidays, when Ukrainian operators will replenish their stocks. However, the price of butter will not decrease, and its further level will depend on global trends on world markets.

This increase in butter prices is likely to remain an important topic for Ukrainian consumers in the coming months. It is expected that even despite the possibility of recovery of external demand, the domestic supply of the product will remain limited, which will support high prices.
