Ukrainian farmers are promised new state support programs for the development of pig farming. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine (Ministry of Agrarian Policy) is actively working on assistance programs for farmers to help increase the number of pigs and expand sales markets.

Taras Vysotskyi, Acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, stated the importance of two key conditions for the effective development of pig farming: state support and the expansion of export markets. According to him, the annual growth in the industry is only 3-4%, so it is necessary to accelerate this process and make it irreversible.

"In order for pig farming to reach a new level of development, it is necessary to ensure the fulfillment of two conditions. The first is state support for farmers. Currently, the Ministry of Agriculture is working on programs to provide assistance to the breeding stock of pigs. The second is the expansion of export markets, in particular European and Southeast Asia," Vysotsky noted.

The minister emphasized that potential agricultural producers of pork should be sure of systematic state support for 5-7 years, as well as access to foreign sales markets. This, in his opinion, will stimulate investment in the industry, creating stable conditions for its development.

Vysotskyi also emphasized the importance of the production of meat products with added value. "The introduction of programs that will allow the production of more food products with added value, for example, meat products, is a contribution to the development of the economy and the support of the Defense Forces. We need food security to provide food products for Ukrainians and the Armed Forces," he emphasized.

The minister reminded that the agricultural sector of Ukraine is a significant part of the national economy and one of the main sources of export earnings. In this context, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy developed the Strategy for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Territories in Ukraine until 2030. One of the tasks of this strategy is to support domestic and global food security, as well as to increase the production of products with added value.

State support programs and new sales markets should become key factors for the development of pig farming in Ukraine, which, in turn, will help strengthen the economy and ensure a stable future for Ukrainian farmers.
