Ukraine continues to see great interest in agricultural specialties in higher education. According to the information provided by the Rector of Polissia National University, Oleh Skydan, in 2023 the number of new applicants to this educational institution increased by 4% compared to the previous year.

As part of the 2023 admission campaign, agronomy for bachelors and masters remains one of the most popular specialties. Another popular master's program is Livestock Production and Processing Technology. This demonstrates the interest of applicants in agriculture and its production.

According to the rector, to provide students with proper internships, the university has signed long-term cooperation agreements with leading Ukrainian agricultural companies. This enables students to gain practical experience and prepare them for future work in agribusiness.

It is also important to hold trainings and professional meetings with students at the university. These events help to attract the attention of agricultural enterprises and provide graduates with the opportunity to choose employment in their specialty.

According to a survey of university graduates, only 1% of them intend to start their own business. This data demonstrates the desire of students to engage in professional activities in the field of study.

In addition, the rector noted the simplification of the conditions for admission to agricultural specialties during martial law, which contributed to an increase in the number of applicants. State support for the specialties in the field of "Agricultural Sciences" contributed to the growth of interest in these areas among applicants.
