In the framework of his participation in the meeting of the European Union Council on Agriculture and Fisheries, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solskyi met with Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Bulgaria Kirill Vatiev.

The talks were also attended by Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy Markiyan Dmytrasevych.

The parties discussed the export of Ukrainian agricultural products. Particular attention was paid to the details of the implementation of the licensing mechanism for certain types of agricultural products, which was initiated by Ukraine.

Mykola Solskyi expressed his gratitude to his Bulgarian counterpart for understanding and emphasized that Ukraine greatly appreciates the assistance and support provided by Bulgaria.

For his part, Kyryl Vatiev said that the Bulgarian government is actively working on proposals to introduce a licensing procedure. In particular, the possibility of licensing sunflower is being considered. The Bulgarian minister confirmed his readiness to promote the development of the Ukrainian agricultural sector.

The ministers agreed to coordinate the situation regarding the timing of the start of exports in accordance with the new rules and the list of agricultural products.

The meeting of the Council on Agriculture and Fisheries takes place on October 23-24 in Luxembourg and establishes cooperation between Ukraine and Bulgaria in the field of agriculture.
