At the meeting between Mykola Solskyi, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, and Vladimir Bol, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry of the Republic of Moldova, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and Ukrainian and Moldovan railways, the prospects for implementing new tariff plans for grain transit through Moldova were discussed. In particular, the parties reviewed the situation with the transportation of Ukrainian agricultural products to the ports of Reni, Giurgiulesti and Galati.

According to the agreed terms, the Moldovan railroad reduced tariffs for transit transportation of grain by 27% and sunflower oil by 39% towards these ports. These new tariff conditions came into force on July 15, 2023.

The parties also agreed to coordinate the situation and make possible adjustments if necessary. This step should help support the transportation of agricultural products through Moldova and promote trade between the two countries.

Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Solsky expressed his gratitude for the support and cooperation with the Moldovan side.

It is worth noting that the reduction of tariffs for transit transportation of grain and sunflower oil was made possible by the joint efforts of both countries and the desire to promote the development of the agricultural sector and foreign trade.

These meetings are important as Ukraine and Moldova are important partners in agricultural and trade cooperation. Joint dialogues and harmonized tariffs will contribute to the stability and development of economic ties between the two countries. Both sides are committed to maintaining positive trends in agricultural development and ensuring a steady flow of agricultural products to world markets.
