In Ukraine, despite the stable situation on the domestic road transport market, tariffs for international agricultural products have changed. This was due to increased queues at the borders, which led to an increase in transportation prices by an average of 1-2 euros depending on the direction. The uncertainty in transportation volumes, associated with several factors, in particular the unchanged level of fuel prices, has not yet affected domestic transportation rates in Ukraine, which remain at the previous level.
According to market rates for transportation by dump trucks in Ukraine, the price of transportation from the central part of the country to ports on the Danube is 43-48 US dollars per ton, and to the ports of Odessa - 32-38 US dollars. Transportation services to Europe also have different costs depending on the region of Ukraine and the country of destination. For example, from Ternopil region to northern Italy, the tariff varies between 141 and 161 euros, and to Bulgaria - between 96 and 116 euros. From Cherkasy region to southwestern Romania, the rates are 92−112 euros.
As for transportation by awnings to Europe, the rates also vary. For transportation from Ternopil region to northern Italy, the price varies between 87 and 117 euros, to Bulgaria - between 78 and 86 euros, and to Romania - 73−80 euros.
According to analysts, the volume of agricultural exports from Ukraine by road in November 2023 decreased by 11.7% compared to October. The total volume of transported products was 339.7 thousand tons.
The decline in exports was particularly noticeable at the borders with Romania and Poland, where transportation volumes fell by 20.6% (to 92.1 thousand tons) and 12.9% (to 130.9 thousand tons), respectively. At the Slovak border, the decrease was 5.8%, and at the Hungarian border — only 1%. At the same time, export volumes across the Moldovan border remained stable at the October level and amounted to 55.6 thousand tons.
The largest export commodities in November were sunflower oil (47.2 thousand tons) and soybeans (24.5 thousand tons). The decrease in transportation volumes reflects the difficult situation on the markets, in particular related to tariff increases and complications at the borders.
