The Ukrainian harvest of 2024 is coming to an end, and farmers are already summing up the results of harvesting. According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, a number of regions, including Bukovyna, Vinnytsia, Kyiv Oblast, Poltava Oblast, Odesa, Kherson Oblast, Kirovohrad Oblast, and Cherkasy Oblast, have completed harvesting early grain and leguminous crops.

In total, 27.3 million tons of grain crops and more than 3.3 million tons of oilseeds have been harvested today. The new harvest was threshed on an area of ​​more than 7.7 million hectares, which made it possible to thresh 30.6 million tons of products.

Among the key crops, wheat threshing has already been completed on 97% of the planned area, from which 20.9 million tons have been harvested. Barley, which was harvested in 98% of the area, yielded 5.2 million tons. Peas, threshed on 99% of the area, brought farmers 457.7 thousand tons. In addition, rapeseed harvesting is almost 100% complete, with a yield of 3.3 million tons of seed.

It is important to note that the Odesa region is the leader in the volume of harvested grain, where 1.07 million hectares have already been threshed. However, the highest productivity was shown by Khmelnytskyi region - here farmers collect an average of 65.1 centners of grain from one hectare of land, which is the best indicator among all regions of Ukraine.

The Ministry also informs that the farmers of Dnipropetrovsk region, Odesa region, Kharkiv region and Kherson region have already started harvesting buckwheat and millet. These crops also play an important role in ensuring the country's food security, and the beginning of their collection indicates the successful development of the agricultural campaign.

This year's harvest results demonstrate that, despite difficult conditions, Ukrainian farmers continue to provide high volumes of agricultural production. This is an important factor not only for the domestic market, but also for the country's export potential, which remains one of the main sources of foreign exchange earnings.
