Farmers in Kherson region have received modern equipment for grain processing and storage provided by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). This initiative has become an important step in supporting Ukrainian farmers working in difficult conditions in the frontline region.
As reported by the Minister of Agrarian Policy Vitaly Koval, the provided equipment was manufactured at an enterprise in Sumy region and will allow farmers to store grain more effectively, optimizing resource consumption and minimizing crop losses.
As part of the assistance, FAO has provided farmers with several types of equipment. In particular, these are ZPM-180 loaders, which significantly reduce the time spent on packing grain into special sleeves, as well as ZRM-180 unloaders, which allow for quick and minimal loss removal of grain from storage facilities. In addition, farmers received PBN-20 transfer bunkers, which improve logistics between storage and transportation of products.
According to the minister, the distributed equipment will be used not only by individual farms, but will also support neighboring farmers. Farmers who received the equipment have undertaken to help their colleagues over the next year, which will contribute to the stability of the entire regional agricultural community.
The implementation of this project was made possible thanks to the financial support of the governments of Japan and Canada, as well as the Minderoo Foundation. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy emphasizes that such initiatives are critically important for strengthening the country's food security. Ukraine will continue to cooperate with international partners to support its farmers and ensure the stability of the agricultural sector.
