This year, the harvesting of the first watermelons began in the Kherson region, and according to the head of the Kherson regional administration Oleksandr Prokudin, the first 160 tons of this sweet crop have already been harvested. This is reported by "ProAgro Group".

Oleksandr Prokudin emphasized that before the Russian aggression, Kherson Oblast was a leader in the cultivation of watermelons and melons in Ukraine, where every third such fruit was grown.

Now the agrarians of the region are actively engaged in collecting early varieties of watermelons, and have already harvested the first significant volumes - 160 tons. Despite the difficult conditions faced by the region, agricultural producers do not give up and continue to work to ensure the harvest of these popular and delicious fruits.

"Approximately a thousand hectares of land have been sown with tower crops in the Kherson region," the head of the regional administration emphasized.
