Since the beginning of 2024, sappers have been actively working on demining agricultural lands, returning fertile areas to farmers for economic use. According to the Ministry of Economy, more than 171.7 thousand hectares of land have been surveyed, of which more than 156.6 thousand hectares are already ready for use.

The Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Yulia Svyridenko, noted that sappers work at an extraordinary speed. In particular, in the Kherson region, almost 60% of agricultural land planned for inspection has already been inspected and returned to use. In total, more than 156,600 hectares of land have been returned to economic use in Ukraine since the beginning of the year.

Survey of agricultural lands was carried out in eight regions of the country. The largest amount of land was surveyed in the Kherson region - 146.3 thousand hectares, in the Kharkiv region - 11.3 thousand hectares, and in the Mykolaiv region - 8.3 thousand hectares. In June, the surveyed lands in these regions amounted to 17.76 thousand, 4.55 thousand and 1.67 thousand hectares, respectively.

Yulia Svyridenko also emphasized significant achievements in the field of humanitarian demining. If at the beginning of 2023 there was not a single demining machine in Ukraine, then at the beginning of 2024 there were already 30 of them, and in June of this year - 82. It is planned to further increase the number of such equipment, including Ukrainian-made equipment.

In addition, the number of certified mine action operators increased by more than one and a half times. Today, there are already 43 of them, and another 52 are in the process of certification. This significantly strengthens the country's capabilities in the field of demining and ensuring security on agricultural lands.

Thus, thanks to the efforts of sappers and the active work of the government, Ukraine continues to restore agricultural lands, providing farmers with the opportunity to return to full-fledged economic activity on their lands.
