On July 1, the new marketing year for grain and oil crops began, and Ukraine presented the main export indicators for the past year. According to the data, the total volume of grain, oil and oil exports amounted to 69.86 million tons.

Wheat exports increased by 9% compared to the previous year and reached 18.43 million tons. In turn, the export of corn increased by 0.2% and amounted to 29.41 million tons. At the same time, the export of barley decreased by 8.5% to 2.48 million tons, and soybeans - by 8.2% to 2.98 million tons.

Significant growth was recorded in the export of rapeseed, which increased by 8.7% and reached 3.7 million tons. Exports of sunflower oil increased by an impressive 22.8%, reaching 6.54 million tons. In addition, the export of soybean meal increased by 12.5% ​​and amounted to 0.662 million tons, and the export of sunflower meal increased by 29.1% and reached 5.15 million tons.

The most devastating drop in exports was observed in sunflower. During the last marketing year, Ukraine exported only 324,000 tons of sunflower, which is 86.3% less compared to the previous year. Deputy Minister of Economy Taras Kachka emphasized that this drop in sunflower exports is positive, as it indicates the growth of domestic processing.

Kachka emphasized that the return to domestic sunflower processing is important for the Ukrainian economy. Processing within the country contributes to the creation of added value and the development of the domestic market. This allows Ukraine to increase the efficiency of the use of its agricultural resources and increase the export of finished products.

So, the data show that the Ukrainian agricultural sector continues to demonstrate high export performance. The decrease in raw sunflower exports and the increase in processing within the country indicate new trends in agricultural policy aimed at the development of domestic production and increase of added value.
