The 2024/25 season was marked by a sharp increase in export prices for Ukrainian apples. The largest increase was recorded for deliveries to the UAE, where importers were willing to pay 40-60% more than last season.
According to *EastFruit*, a significant increase in prices is also observed for exports to Saudi Arabia, which remains the main market for Ukrainian fruits. Prices increased by 30-40%, a similar trend is observed in Kuwait.
In Western Europe, Sweden became the largest buyer of Ukrainian apples. The average annual price increase here reached 25%, which indicates an increase in demand for these products among the powerful EU markets.
The overall decrease in the apple harvest in Austria, Poland and other countries neighboring Ukraine created additional space for an increase in prices for Ukrainian apples. Economist Andriy Yarmak, a UN specialist in agribusiness, notes that the decline in production volumes in the region has been a key factor in this trend.
In addition, prices for apple concentrate have risen to record levels. This attracts high-quality industrial apples to processing, which reduces the supply of low-quality fresh apples. Overall, this contributes to higher prices in the fresh produce sector.
The domestic market for Ukrainian gardeners also continues to demonstrate high prices.
