Active demand and weather conditions: Impact on wheat prices in Ukraine

Recent market analyzes have shown that active demand has played an important role in the growth of feed wheat prices. According to analysts, wheat prices have recovered from the recent decline, especially given the problems associated with the harvest in Australia.

On the domestic Ukrainian market, food wheat prices mostly remained within the previous values. However, there have been changes due to active demand for feed grains, which has led to some price increases, especially in the port regions and in the west of the country, as reported in Barva

Some recent indications of wheat prices point to a positive trend. The March wheat contract in Chicago rose to $5.72 a bushel, up $0.11 a bushel. Thus, the March contract on Euronext also recorded an increase of €0.75 per ton.

For feed wheat prices, DAP-Port Danube (11.5%) is set at $177 per tonne, while DAP-Deep Ports (11.5%) is in the $175-185 per tonne range. These indicators indicate the impact of demand on price dynamics in the forage crop sector.

The increase in wheat prices, especially against the background of active demand, may affect market trends and correct the losses incurred as a result of the previously noted recession. Experts recommend keeping a close eye on price dynamics and demand factors in the coming months.
