Expansion of Canadian investments in the agricultural sector of Ukraine
Canada and Ukraine, in particular, agreed to strengthen trade and economic relations within the framework of the updated Free Trade Agreement. This new agreement opens the door for Canadian companies planning to invest in the Ukrainian agricultural sector. According to the announcement on the website of the Ministry of Economy, the Canadian business mission is scheduled for the beginning of next year and will bring specific proposals regarding investments in the domestic economy and post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.
The government of Ukraine pays special attention to the development of the processing industry, taking into account the restrictions on the export of agricultural products by sea. Canadian companies with professional experience in food processing of agricultural products can bring a valuable contribution to Ukraine in this direction.
Yuliya Svyridenko, First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy of Ukraine, expressed her hope for further cooperation with Canada and broad involvement of Canadian business in the recovery of Ukraine. She noted: "Ukraine needs to look for any alternative and predictable export opportunities for the sustainable development of agrarian processing industries."
Note that Canada is considered one of the largest producers and exporters of agricultural products in the world. The experience and technologies of Canadian companies can become an important resource for the development of the Ukrainian agricultural industry.
Canadian investments can cover various sectors of production and processing of the Ukrainian agricultural industry, including grain crops, oil crops, fruit and vegetable products, as well as meat and dairy products. This opens up wide opportunities for the development and modernization of agricultural production in Ukraine.
In the light of this partnership, we can expect not only the economic rise of both countries, but also the exchange of technological innovations and best practices in the field of agriculture. This will contribute to mutual enrichment and joint advancement in the direction of sustainable development.
