Forest recovery program "Forest Recovery": Ukrainian forests are getting a chance to be saved

Ukraine has always been famous for its rich natural heritage, including dense forests that provide not only natural beauty, but also important resources for our country. However, recently, the forest fund of Ukraine has performed worse than our expectations. The noted decrease in forest areas threatens ecological stability and the provision of various branches of the economy. Fortunately, there are initiatives to save this important resource. Among them is the forest recovery program "Forest Recovery", initiated by the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine".

General Director of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" Yuriy Bolokhovets announced the launch of the "Forest Recovery" program. This initiative aims to restore the forest fund of Ukraine together with communities and international partners. As stated by Mr. Bolokhovets, the program is supported by prominent Western partners - Forest Europe and Eustafor, who joined this important cause.

The first winner of the "Forest Recovery" competition was the Omelnytsk community, located in the Poltava region. The community voluntarily handed over 55 hectares of land plots for afforestation and almost 129 hectares of self-seeded forests to restore the work of the "Kremenchutsk Forestry" branch. This act is an example of high responsibility towards future generations and an important step in restoring the country's forest fund.

Cooperation between communities and organizations dedicated to nature conservation is very important in the context of "Forest Recovery". Omelnytsia community got the opportunity to restore forests together with foresters, which ensures improvement of the ecological situation in the region and important support of the local population.

An additional initiative worthy of attention is the landscaping of the central street of the settlement of Omelnytsia community by foresters as a show of gratitude for their cooperation and contribution to the restoration of natural resources. Such actions encourage other communities to participate in the "Forest Recovery" program and preserve forests for future generations.

In general, the Forest Recovery program in Ukraine opens a new chapter in the preservation of the country's natural wealth. The initiative, aimed at the joint efforts of communities, organizations and international partners, can be noted as a significant step in the direction of restoring forests and maintaining a sustainable ecological balance in Ukraine
