    How our emotions affect our heart

An unhealthy diet high in fat and carbohydrates and lack of exercise increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. The tendency towards social isolation due to illness also contributes to unhealthy lifestyles. Depression, considered one of the most common diseases of our age, is not only a mental problem, but also one of the causes of heart disease. It can also lead to death after a heart attack.

    Anxiety

    When someone is anxious, their body reacts in ways that can put extra strain on their heart. The physical symptoms of anxiety can be especially devastating among people with pre-existing heart disease. Anxiety puts the body into fight or flight mode. Over time, a disproportionate level of stress response causes systemic inflammation, which in turn can damage the heart arteries, increase blood pressure, or disrupt the normal heart rhythm.

    The heart and mind are closely connected.
