In June, Ukrzaliznytsia's freight traffic increased by 32% year-on-year to 12.4 million tons. Compared to May, the volumes increased by 8%.

Yevhen Lyashchenko, Chairman of the Board of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia, emphasized that the company regularly announces positive results in the field of freight transportation. The significant increase in volumes in June and their steady growth contribute to the company's plans to achieve breakeven and restore the rail industry.
Domestic freight transportation by Ukrzaliznytsia in June 2023 increased by 40.6% compared to the same period in 2022 and reached a record 7.9 million tons. Export transportation also increased by 24.3% to 4 million tons.
In June, the company transported the most
grain cargo (up 48.4% to 2 million tons)
construction materials (up 87% to 3.1 million tons),
coal (up 16.3% to 2.3 million tons),
iron and manganese ore (up 2.8% to 2 million tons).
In June, Ukrzaliznytsia also experienced a 25.3% increase in average daily cargo loading compared to June 2022, reaching 387.4 thousand tons. Compared to May this year, this figure also increased by 10%.
The average daily loading of grains increased by 25.8% compared to June 2022 (to 58.3 thousand tons), building materials - by 81% (to 55.9 thousand tons), coal - by 13% (to 76.2 thousand tons), loading of iron and manganese ore decreased by 2% compared to June 2022 and amounted to 64.97 thousand tons.
As a reminder, in May, Ukrzaliznytsia increased its cargo transportation by 19.2% compared to May 2022. The average daily load also increased by 15.7% to 352.8 thousand tons.
