As of April 18, 2025, Ukrainian farmers are actively continuing to sow spring grain and leguminous crops. In total, these crops have already been sown on an area of ​​1,247.2 thousand hectares, among which corn attracts special attention. According to the data, corn is currently being sown in 13 regions of Ukraine, which indicates stable growth of the agricultural sector in the conditions of spring sowing.

The main part of the sown areas so far belongs to barley - 656.2 thousand hectares. In second place are spring wheat crops, the area of ​​which is 169.4 thousand hectares. In addition, farmers sowed 189.4 thousand hectares of peas, 139.5 thousand hectares of oats and 69.5 thousand hectares of corn. It is important to note that corn, although it occupies a smaller area compared to other crops, is key to Ukrainian agriculture.

The regions that demonstrate the best results in terms of sowing rates include Odessa region, where 113.2 thousand hectares have already been sown, Khmelnytskyi region with 92.4 thousand hectares, Poltava region with 91.2 thousand hectares, Ternopil region with 90.9 thousand hectares and Vinnytsia region with 82.1 thousand hectares. These regions continue to lead among others in terms of sowing volumes and farmers' efforts.

In addition to grain and leguminous crops, other agricultural crops are also actively sown in Ukraine. Thus, as of April 18, 244 thousand hectares of sunflower have already been sown, which is important for meeting the country's needs in vegetable oils. In addition, on an area of ​​16.1 thousand hectares, hectares are sown with soybeans, and 142.6 thousand hectares with sugar beets.

In general, Ukrainian farmers are working to provide the country with important agricultural crops that are necessary not only for domestic consumption, but also for export. Given the volumes of crops, it is predicted that this year will be favorable for the development of the agricultural sector, even despite the challenges associated with the geopolitical situation.

The continuation of sowing and the introduction of new agricultural technologies allows Ukraine to maintain its status as one of the main suppliers of agricultural products on the world market, which is important for both the economy and the country's food security.
