Ukraine continues to actively develop its export capabilities, planning to introduce products to 31 new markets. According to information from the Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, Serhiy Tkachuk, this process is already actively underway.
Last year, 22 Ukrainian food producers received permission to export to the European Union. These producers represent a variety of industries, including poultry, fish processing, and dairy.
Particular attention was paid to honey producers who have undergone re-accreditation since the introduction of the EU's special list of honey importers in November last year. 28 Ukrainian companies were included in this list after inspections.
In 2024, 39 export facilities for the production of inedible products of animal origin were also approved. Of these, eight companies were registered for the first time, and for 31 companies, the range of products and the country of export were expanded.
The export destinations of Ukrainian producers are focused on countries in Africa, the Middle East and China due to quota restrictions on certain goods in the EU. Despite this, the State Service for Food and Consumer Protection of Ukraine is ready to provide support to Ukrainian enterprises in entering new markets.
Serhiy Tkachuk predicts that this year Ukraine will be able to open even more new markets compared to 2024. Currently, the country has the opportunity to export its agricultural products to 364 trade directions, which indicates its active development in the international arena.
