Agroholding "Nibulon" is actively implementing environmentally friendly energy sources at its enterprises, having launched a pilot project to install solar power plants (SPPs). The first stage was implemented at the Transshipment Terminal in Mykolaiv, where 106 solar panels with a total capacity of 60.95 kW have already been installed.
The company's press service reported that further expansion of this solar power plant is planned. In the near future, another 573 panels will be added, which will increase the plant's capacity by 349.6 kW. This will allow it to produce more clean energy, which will directly affect the reduction of electricity costs.
One of the important aspects of this project is the savings that the company expects to receive through the use of solar energy. According to estimates, the annual savings will amount to 61.3 MW/h, which will significantly reduce electricity costs. Solar panels will work most effectively in spring, summer and early autumn, when the level of solar activity is highest.
Nibulon emphasized that in addition to saving money, the installation of solar power plants will increase the energy security of the enterprise. In particular, it is planned to integrate batteries, which will allow storing excess energy, especially important in conditions of emergency or planned power outages.
The implementation of this project also has a positive impact on the environment. The installed solar panels have reduced CO₂ emissions by 1.75 tons, which is equivalent to planting 120 trees. This approach contributes not only to energy savings, but also to improving the environmental situation in the region.
Currently, the company does not plan to limit itself to Mykolaiv and is actively working on expanding the project to other branches. Engineering and economic studies are being conducted to select new locations where high energy consumption and sufficient area for installing solar panels will allow implementing similar projects.
