The Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food is introducing a new approach to agricultural exports to the European Union, aimed at ensuring predictability and reducing the risks of trade conflicts. The initiative provides for deliveries according to an agreed schedule with established monthly quotas, which will contribute to stability in export relations between Ukraine and its European partners.

Vitaliy Koval, head of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, emphasized in an interview with Forbes Ukraine that this new mechanism meets the needs of European countries for greater predictability of imports of Ukrainian agricultural products. According to him, there is a need to establish clear rules to avoid excessive volumes of deliveries, which can cause trade conflicts between agricultural producers in the EU countries.

The mechanism provides that exports from Ukraine to the EU will be carried out according to an agreed schedule, which will allow EU member states to plan their import needs in a timely manner and avoid market shortages. Each month will have certain quotas that will contribute to the balance between supply and demand for agricultural products.

An important aspect of the new initiative is to reduce risks for Ukrainian farmers in connection with possible changes in the autonomous trade preferences regime. Vitaliy Koval emphasized that one of the main tasks for this year is the diversification of export markets, which will reduce dependence on specific trade agreements and ensure stability in the agricultural sector.

Ukraine, relying on this new mechanism for exporting agricultural products to the EU, seeks to increase the efficiency of its foreign economic activity, while maintaining stability in relations with European partners. The implementation of this initiative opens up new opportunities for the development of the Ukrainian agricultural sector and strengthening its positions in the international market.
