A large-scale reform of the fishing industry has been launched in Ukraine, aimed at the development of aquaculture and the restoration of aquatic bioresources. Thanks to new legislative initiatives, it is planned to strengthen state support for the industry, which will have a positive impact on both the economy and the environment.

According to the State Fish Agency, one of the key steps was the approval of a new budget program called "Measures for the introduction of aquatic bioresources into fishery water bodies (their parts)". The program provides for the reproduction of various fish species in specially designated water bodies, which will help increase the volume of fish catches and improve the state of ecosystems.

Financing of this program will be provided by increasing the starting price at auctions for the sale of rights for the special use of aquatic bioresources. The conclusion of such contracts will take place through electronic auctions, which will contribute to the transparency of the process and attract additional funds to the state budget.

Support for aquaculture should be not only an economic boost for the industry, but also a tool for ecological improvement of water bodies. Effective reproduction of aquatic bioresources will reduce the burden on natural fish populations and ensure their sustainable use.

Experts note that the development of aquaculture in Ukraine has significant potential, in particular, given the favorable natural conditions and demand for high-quality fish products. The integration of modern technologies and best international practices in this area can significantly increase the competitiveness of the Ukrainian fishing industry.
