  • Ukrainian farmers have harvested over 73 million tons of grain and oilseed crops

    As of November 29, Ukrainian farmers are completing the harvest of the new crop of grain and oilseed crops, the total volume of which has already reached 73.6 million tons. 19.5 million hectares of agricultural land have been processed, from which 53.9 million tons of grain and 19.7 million tons of oilseed crops have been harvested. These data are provided by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

    According to the agency, the harvesting of wheat, barley, peas and rapeseed has been fully completed, while corn, millet, buckwheat, sunflower and soybeans remain at the final stage of harvesting. In particular:
    - Wheat: 4.9 million hectares have been threshed, 22.4 million tons have been harvested.
    - Barley: 1.4 million hectares have been threshed, 5.6 million tons have been obtained.
    - Corn: 3.8 million hectares (96%) threshed, 24.2 million tons threshed.
    - Sunflower: 4.9 million hectares (97%) processed, 10.2 million tons of seeds obtained.
    - Soybean: 6 million tons harvested from 2.6 million hectares (99%).

    The highest grain harvest volumes were recorded in Odessa region (4.6 million tons), Chernihiv region (4.5 million tons) and Poltava region (4.2 million tons). At the same time, the first places in terms of yield indicators are occupied by Khmelnytsky region with a record 77.4 centners/hectare, Chernihiv region (70 centners/hectare) and Ternopil region (68.7 centners/hectare).

    In addition to grains and oilseeds, the harvest of sugar beets is being completed. Currently, 98% of the areas have been dug up, which is 253.4 thousand. ha, and 12.1 million tons of sweet roots were dug up.

    This year's results demonstrate the resilience of Ukraine's agricultural sector even in wartime. Thanks to the coordinated work of farmers and the use of modern technologies, it was possible to ensure high harvest rates, which play a key role in the country's food security and exports.

    It is expected that the continuation of the harvest of crop residues will allow achieving even more impressive results, which will strengthen Ukraine's position as one of the largest agricultural exporters in the world.
