As of November 22, the harvest in Ukraine is almost complete, with 72.9 million tons of grain and oilseed crops harvested. The total threshing area was 19.5 million hectares, which is 98% of the projected volumes.
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, this year's harvest demonstrates the significant potential of the Ukrainian agricultural sector. The total volume of grain crops reached 53.4 million tons, and oilseed crops - almost 19.5 million tons.
In particular, the harvesting of wheat, barley, peas and rapeseed has been fully completed. 22.4 million tons of wheat were threshed from an area of 4.9 million hectares, and 5.6 million tons of barley from 1.4 million hectares. The pea harvest amounted to 469 thousand tons out of 212.3 thousand. ha, and rapeseed - 3.5 million tons from 1.2 million ha.
The harvest of corn, millet, buckwheat, sunflower and soybeans is at the finish line. The largest contribution among cereals was provided by corn: 23.6 million tons were threshed from an area of 3.7 million ha (94% of the forecast). At the same time, 97% of the areas under millet were processed, 161.3 thousand tons were harvested, and 99% of the areas under buckwheat with a yield of 131.7 thousand tons.
Among oilseed crops, sunflower stands out - 10.1 million tons of seeds were harvested from 4.9 million ha (97% of the area). Soybeans also showed high results: 6 million tons of seeds were threshed from an area of 2.6 million ha (99% of the area).
This year's harvest campaign demonstrates the stability and efficiency of the Ukrainian agricultural sector despite the challenges of wartime. Record yields of grain and oilseed crops create the prerequisites for strengthening Ukraine's food security and ensuring export potential on international markets.
