Ukraine has actively started this year's harvest of grain crops, having collected about 100,000 tons of agricultural products at the moment. Taras Vysotskyi, Acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, stated this on the air of the telethon.

According to him, they were the first to start harvesting barley, peas and wheat - these are early grain and leguminous crops. The total production of these crops is projected to be approximately 56 million tons. However, Vysotsky noted, these are only preliminary data, more accurate figures will be known later.

As for oilseeds, more than 20 million tons are expected to be harvested, which is also quite an optimistic forecast. He also noted that these indicators are important in the context of the protracted conflict in the east of the country, which has been going on for the third year.

According to Vysotskyi, farmers harvest from 80% of Ukraine's agricultural lands. At the same time, approximately 18-20% of land areas are under temporary occupation, which complicates the agrarian situation in the country.

He also emphasized that there is a decrease in the area under grain crops due to the change in crop rotation, but an increase in the area under oil crops, which indicates the adaptation of Ukrainian farmers to modern conditions and market needs.
