The State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, plans to transfer the authority to register agricultural machinery by the end of 2024.

According to Serhiy Tkachuk, Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, this initiative arose after a special interagency working group determined that the registration of machinery is not within the competence of the State Service.

Tkachuk emphasized that in order to successfully implement this step, it is necessary to adopt a relevant law, a draft of which is already being developed by the Service's specialists and departments.

The main goal of this initiative is to organize a single register of vehicles under one ministry, which will avoid various manipulations in this area.

Last year, the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection reviewed and processed more than 75,000 applications for registration of agricultural machinery and issued the required number of tractor driver's licenses.

An important part of this process is the cooperation between the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection and the Ministry of Internal Affairs in creating a new registration procedure that will be regulated by a single law.

The adoption of such a law will simplify and unify the registration procedure for agricultural machinery and make it more efficient and transparent.
