According to the latest data, sugar and salt prices on the Ukrainian market reflected different trends in early 2024. According to the Ministry of Finance portal, the cost of sugar remains at a relatively low level, but prices have slightly decreased compared to January. Meanwhile, salt prices continue to rise.

The average price of sugar was UAH 29.60 per kilogram as of February 24, 2024. This is slightly lower than last month, when the product was sold for UAH 30.01 per kilogram. The decline in sugar prices may affect consumer activity and increase the affordability of the product for many citizens.

However, in the case of salt, the opposite trend is observed. Since January, prices for this product have increased from UAH 32.86 to UAH 33.80 per kilogram. The Varus chain offers the lowest prices for salt, which is sold at UAH 29.90 per kilogram. On the other hand, the price of salt in MegaMarket stores is the highest at UAH 37.60 per kilogram.

The increase in salt prices may affect the family budget, as this product is used in many households on a daily basis. Such changes in the cost of basic foodstuffs may affect inflation and consumer activity.
