  • Ukraine imposes restrictions on imports of eggs and poultry from the Czech Republic due to bird flu
    Опубликовано: 2024-02-05 18:04:28

Ukraine has taken decisive measures to prevent the spread of bird flu and imposed restrictions on the import of eggs, poultry and their products from the Czech Republic. According to the Eastern Interregional Directorate of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, this decision is aimed at maintaining safety of poultry farmers and the national poultry industry.

Starting from February 1, Ukraine will be banned from importing hatching eggs, poultry and products from the Czech Republic from areas that have been recognized by the Czech competent authority as unsafe due to the high risk of avian influenza. This measure will help prevent possible cases of infection in Ukraine and maintain stability in the poultry industry.

However, there is an exemption for products that have been treated with a special method to ensure the destruction of the avian influenza pathogen. This reservation indicates that the processing of such products ensures their safety and the absence of a threat to birds and the poultry industry in Ukraine.

Ukraine continues to take the necessary measures to ensure safety standards in agriculture, and the decision to restrict imports from the Czech Republic is one of the key initiatives in this direction.
