The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted Resolution No. 1407, which provides for the continuation of funding for the state support program for farmers in 2025. The program is aimed at farmers who cultivate up to 120 hectares of agricultural land or keep up to 100 cows, 500 goats and/or sheep. This decision was announced by the Minister of Agrarian Policy Vitaly Koval.
According to the minister, this program will allow farmers who did not receive support in 2024 to take advantage of it in 2025. This will allow more farmers to receive the necessary assistance for the development of their farms.
One of the key changes in the program was the extension of the deadline for submitting applications to the State Agrarian Register, which will allow for a more flexible approach to receiving support. The program's funding, as noted, is designed for two years, which provides an opportunity for the stable development of the agricultural sector.
According to the 2025 budget, legislators have allocated 4.726 billion hryvnias for the implementation of this program. This is a significant amount that will provide real assistance to farms, in particular small and medium-sized ones, which have limited access to financing.
The program provides for several types of support. In particular, farmers can receive 4 thousand hryvnias of budget subsidies for each hectare of agricultural land. In addition, a subsidy is provided for livestock: 7 thousand hryvnias for one cow and 2 thousand hryvnias for one goat or sheep. This will help cover part of the costs of farmers to run their farms.
This program is an important step in supporting farmers, who are the basis of agriculture in Ukraine. Since small and medium-sized businesses in the agricultural sector usually face a number of financial difficulties, state support plays a key role in their stable development and ensuring the country's food security.
