The German company Pfeifer & Langen continues to strengthen its presence in the Ukrainian sugar market by acquiring another sugar plant. The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has started the process of reviewing the merger, which involves the acquisition of the assets of Hnidavsky Sugar Plant by Radekhivsky Sugar, a company already part of Pfeifer & Langen.
The owner of Radekhivskyi Sugar, located in Rivne region, is the German corporation Pfeifer & Langen. In addition, Pfeifer & Langen also owns four sugar factories in the Ternopil region - in Zbarazh, Kozova, Khorostkiv and Chortkiv. Previously, these plants belonged to Mriya Agro Holding (now known as Continental Farmers Group).
The acquisition of Hnidavsky Sugar Plant is only one part of Pfeifer & Langen's strategy to strengthen its operations in Ukraine. Already five sugar factories and a significant production volume indicate the company's active interest in the Ukrainian sugar market.
The decision to expand its business in Ukraine can be seen as a recognition of the potential of the country's sugar industry. The acquisition of Hnidavsky Sugar Plant demonstrates Pfeifer & Langen's strategic vision for the development of the Ukrainian segment of its business.
However, it should be borne in mind that this concentration will also require analysis by the antitrust authorities to ensure balanced competition in the market and compliance with legal requirements.
