Ukraine is actively working to resume exports of meat and meat products to China. This was the topic of discussion during a recent meeting of the working group on the development of the meat industry. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

Representatives of the Ukrainian meat sector met with specialized associations and representatives of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection before the official Ukrainian delegation's trip to China. The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the details of cooperation on meat exports, particularly pork, to the Chinese market. First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy Taras Vysotsky noted that it is important to discuss all the details with market participants to reach an effective agreement.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy emphasizes that China is one of the most attractive markets for Ukrainian exporters of poultry, beef and pork. The fact that the largest number of applications for meat exports relates to the Chinese market is evidence of its attractiveness. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and geopolitical conflicts, cooperation on beef exports was suspended. However, there is now a certain rapprochement between Ukraine and China in trade relations, and the list of meat exporters is constantly expanding. It is also planned to consider the issue of poultry exports.

Currently, key issues have been exchanged with the Chinese customs in preparation for bilateral meetings between the two countries, which are scheduled for the near future. This shows that Ukraine is active in working to establish meat exports to China. Representatives of the Ukrainian meat industry hope for a successful resumption of cooperation and the resumption of exports to the important Chinese market.
