Since the beginning of 2025, Ukrainian agricultural enterprises have been actively using state support programs, attracting almost UAH 44.5 billion in soft loans. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on May 13.
In total, about 7,400 agricultural enterprises across the country received financial support. Funds were allocated in various areas, including compensation programs for demining fields, which became a critically important factor for the restoration of agricultural production in regions affected by the war.
One of the key initiatives remains the program for compensation for demining costs. Thanks to it, farmers were able to cultivate about 1,400 hectares of land again. In total, as a result of the work of sappers, more than 35 thousand square kilometers of territory have already been returned to safe use, which opens up prospects for expanding sown areas.
In addition to credit support, the state continues to provide subsidies for the development of livestock farming: this year, 7.7 thousand farms have already received funding. Ukraine has also attracted more than 390 million hryvnias in grants from the World Bank to ensure further payments under this program, which contributes to strengthening the agricultural sector.
The government pays special attention to the component of the "Made in Ukraine" program, within the framework of which farmers receive partial compensation for the cost of domestic agricultural machinery. According to Shmyhal, in 2024 alone, farmers purchased 5.3 thousand units of Ukrainian machinery, and even greater demand is expected in 2025.
"This provides a double benefit - it stimulates the development of national industry and simultaneously modernizes agricultural production," the Prime Minister emphasized. In times of war, the agricultural sector remains one of the key drivers of the Ukrainian economy, and comprehensive state support makes it possible to maintain production, ensure food security, and prepare for post-war recovery.
