As of the end of April 2025, the sowing campaign in Ukraine is actively gaining momentum. As reported by ProAgro Group, citing data from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, as of April 25, farmers in all regions of the country have already sown 2 million hectares with spring grain and leguminous crops.

The largest share of the sown areas is currently occupied by corn, which occupies 705 thousand hectares. In second place in terms of sowing volumes is barley - it was sown on an area of ​​702.1 thousand hectares. Spring wheat crops cover 199.8 thousand hectares, peas - 201.8 thousand hectares, and oats - 154.2 thousand hectares.

Poltava region is confidently leading in terms of the pace of the sowing campaign, having sown 251.5 thousand hectares. High results are also demonstrated by Kirovohrad region - 146.4 thousand hectares, Sumy region - 138.1 thousand hectares, Odessa region - 122.5 thousand hectares and Khmelnytsky region - 119.9 thousand hectares. Meanwhile, sowing of buckwheat has started in Rivne region, which is also an important crop for food security.

In addition to grains and legumes, sowing of industrial crops is actively underway. In total, 1 million 763.6 thousand hectares have already been sown with them. Sunflower occupies the largest area - 1 million 236.8 thousand hectares. Soybeans have been sown on 187.6 thousand hectares, and sugar beets - on 228.5 thousand hectares.

Despite the difficult conditions caused by security risks and economic challenges, Ukrainian farmers demonstrate high mobilization and strive to ensure a stable harvest. Timely sowing is the key to the country's food security and its position in global agricultural markets.
