Ukrainian agricultural products continue to actively conquer international markets. In 2024, domestic producers gained access to 16 new markets in nine countries around the world, which was an important step in expanding the geography of exports. Currently, Ukraine is negotiating with 60 countries to further expand export opportunities.

This was reported by the State Service for Food and Consumer Protection of Ukraine, noting that cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is aimed at creating favorable conditions for Ukrainian products to enter foreign markets. Representatives of the service emphasize that over the past decade, the Ukrainian product quality control system has passed more than 30 international assessments and received recognition from key partners, in particular China, Canada, the USA and EU countries.

In 2024, the list of products available for export has expanded significantly. Key products include poultry, beef and veal, dairy, honey, fruit (including apples, blueberries, and cherries), grains, and fish and fish products. Work is currently underway to expand access to new markets for these product categories.

Among the countries to which access has been expanded in 2024 are Israel, China, Kuwait, Bahrain, Canada, Moldova, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia. New certificates and permits for the supply of specific products have been approved in each of these countries. For example, honey can now be exported to China, fish meal and veterinary certificates for reptiles to Israel, and seafood to Kuwait.

The State Service for the Supervision of Food and Consumer Protection emphasizes the importance of access to the 360 ​​trade areas that Ukraine currently has. However, the main goal is to further increase this number. Over the next five years, Ukraine plans to significantly increase its efforts to open new markets, which will not only increase exports but also strengthen the position of domestic farmers in the international arena.

Opening new markets helps increase the income of the agricultural sector, creates new opportunities for producers, and allows Ukrainian products to be integrated into global supply chains. This strategy is an important step for the development of the country's economy and increasing its competitiveness in the global market.
