Since the beginning of 2024, Ukrainian farmers have been actively using bank loans for the development of their farms. According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, 9,075 agricultural enterprises received loans for a total amount of 62.9 billion hryvnias.
A significant part of these funds, namely 25.83 billion hryvnias, was provided to 5,491 agricultural enterprises within the framework of the state program "Affordable loans 5-7-9%". This program, implemented with the support of the World Bank as part of the ARISE project, is aimed at facilitating the access of micro and small businesses to bank lending.
Kyiv region was the leader in terms of the volume of loans, where 881 enterprises received financing in the amount of 16.08 billion hryvnias. It is followed by Dnipropetrovsk region with 4.17 billion hryvnias, Cherkasy region with 3.96 billion hryvnias, Kirovohrad region with 3.9 billion hryvnias and Lviv region with 3.84 billion hryvnias.
Within the framework of the "5-7-9% Available Loans" program, farmers of the Kyiv region received the most funds - 3.19 billion hryvnias. It is followed by Kirovohrad region with 2.47 billion hryvnias, Vinnytsia region with 2.3 billion hryvnias, Odesa region with 2.15 billion hryvnias and Kharkiv region with 2 billion hryvnias.
It is worth noting that the program "Available loans 5-7-9%" allows farmers to receive loans of up to 90 million hryvnias at 5-9% per annum, depending on the category of the loan and the business entity. This enables many agricultural enterprises to expand their activities, modernize equipment and introduce the latest technologies.
The program has a significant impact on the development of the agricultural sector of Ukraine, helping to increase the competitiveness of Ukrainian farmers on the international market. Thanks to the support of the World Bank and the Ukrainian state, farmers get access to the financial resources necessary for their growth and development.
Thus, from the beginning of 2024, Ukrainian farmers were able to significantly improve their financial capabilities and ensure the stable development of their farms thanks to the active use of bank lending.
