Prices for potatoes in Ukraine for the 2024 harvest continue to fall at a rapid pace. At the moment, Ukrainian producers sell this vegetable for 11-16 hryvnias per kilogram, which is on average 26% cheaper than last week.

This is reported by the analytical project EastFruit, which indicates significant pressure on prices due to a large supply of potatoes on the market at a low rate of its sale.

According to analysts, this situation has forced producers to lower prices to stimulate demand, but these measures do not always lead to the expected result.

The price of potatoes in Ukraine is already 11% lower than in the same period last year, which is another reason for lowering prices, as experts explain.

"The main reason for the drop in prices is the seasonal factor, when the volume of potatoes entering the market increases almost every day," the analytical report explains.

Experts also predict that the downward trend in prices in this segment may continue with an increase in the supply of potatoes on the market in the near future.

In general, the influence of seasonal fluctuations and significant competition among producers contributes to the further reduction of potato prices in Ukraine, which affects the dynamics of market processes in the country's agriculture.
