  • Shortage on the potato market in Ukraine has led to an increase in prices
    Опубликовано: 2024-03-07 14:05:00

A shortage on the potato market in Ukraine has led to an increase in prices for this vegetable. According to analysts of the EastFruit project, the average price of potatoes has now increased by 14% compared to the previous week.

Wholesale companies and retail chains are facing a shortage of quality potatoes, which is driving up prices for this product. Farmers are confidently raising prices for high quality potatoes as demand continues to grow.

Ukrainian producers are ready to ship high quality potatoes at prices ranging from UAH 16 to 23 per kilogram, which is on average 14% higher than a week earlier.

Analysts attribute the price increase to the limited amount of quality potatoes available on farms and the steady growth in demand for this product. This leads to a steady increase in prices for both high and lower quality potatoes.

Recently, potato prices in Ukraine have increased by an average of 2.8 times compared to the beginning of March 2023. Analysts predict further price increases for this vegetable as the supply of potatoes continues to decline.
