According to forecasts, next year Ukrainian farmers will actively increase soybean crops aimed at producing protein feed. Dmytro Solomchuk, MP and member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy, shared interesting dynamics in the agricultural sector.

Ukraine is experiencing an increase in the number of pig farms and dairy farms, which contributes to high profitability in the livestock industry. According to Solomchuk, this will lead to an expected increase in soybean plantings, which are needed for the production of protein feed.

In 2024, the trend of growth in the area under oilseeds, especially sunflower, is expected to continue. The deputy pointed to the demand for sunflower oil, which remains stable. Rapeseed and malting barley are also expected to increase.

Solomchuk paid special attention to the southern regions, where spring wheat, in particular durum, is expected to increase. At the same time, the area under sugar beet is expected to grow, as its production is economically beneficial for farmers.
