With great optimism and impressive productivity of Ukrainian fields, farmers have started harvesting early grains in the 2023 season. According to the report of ProAgro Group, which is based on the data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, as of August 11, an impressive 22,961 thsd tonnes of early grain crops have already been harvested.

As of that date, when 5,292 thousand hectares of land had been harvested, the yield was 43.7 centners per hectare. Let's take a closer look at these figures:

Wheat: with an area of 3,830 thou hectares and a yield of 46.2 centners per hectare, 17,698 thou tons were harvested.
Barley: on an area of 1,263 thousand hectares and a yield of 38.8 c/ha, 4,901 thousand tons were harvested.
Peas: 146.6 thousand hectares were threshed with a yield of 24.6 c/ha, yielding 361.2 thousand tons of products.
Millet: 0.3 thou hectares with a yield of 6.9 cwt/ha, resulting in 0.2 thou tons of harvest.
Buckwheat: 0.08 thou hectares were threshed with a yield of 11.3 c/ha, yielding 0.1 thou tons.
One of the leading regions in terms of threshing volume is Odesa region, where an impressive 3.2 mln tons were harvested. Also, farmers in Zaporizhzhia region are working at a high level of productivity, having threshed 90% of the area. Pea harvesting has already been completed in 13 regions.

Millet harvesting has begun in Dnipropetrovska and Kherson regions, while Dnipropetrovska region continues to harvest buckwheat.

Rapeseed fields are not far behind: a total of 3702.1 thousand tons of rapeseed was harvested on an area of 1315.2 thousand hectares, with a yield of 28.1 c/ha. 7 regions have already successfully completed harvesting this promising crop.
