Auctions for a 25-year sublease of state agricultural land have launched in Ukraine, providing new opportunities for the development of agribusiness. In 10 regions of the country, farmers and agricultural enterprises can obtain land for growing perennial crops, such as orchards, berry bushes, nuts and other niche crops.
The launch of the auctions was announced by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vitaly Koval. According to him, this initiative will create stable conditions for the long-term development of the agricultural sector, in particular for enterprises engaged in gardening and growing other perennial crops.
As part of the project implemented through the Land Bank, 60 land plots with a total area of over 800 hectares have been put up for auction. Each plot is offered for sublease for a period of 25 years. This gives farmers and agricultural enterprises the opportunity for long-term planning, attracting investments and developing agribusiness.
The largest number of plots, namely 37, are available in the Transcarpathian region, where the total land area is 252 hectares. In addition, the first three lots are already available in the Zhytomyr region with an initial rental price of UAH 2,000 per hectare. The rental price will be determined through electronic bidding, which ensures transparency and competitiveness of the process.
All land plots for sublease can be viewed using an interactive map on the "Land Bank" website. Auctions are held through the state electronic system "Prozorro.Sales", which ensures openness and accessibility for all interested parties. Both small farmers and large agricultural enterprises that seek to develop horticulture and other promising areas of agribusiness can participate in the bidding.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine emphasizes that this initiative is not only a mechanism for transferring land for lease, but also a strategic investment in the future of the Ukrainian agricultural sector. This is especially important for the development of niche agricultural crops, which are gaining popularity not only in Ukraine but also abroad.
