From the beginning of 2025, a number of food products are expected to increase in price in Ukraine, among which the cost of eggs is of particular interest. Prices for this product are already showing significant fluctuations, which, according to economists, may become a general trend in the coming months. However, the cost of food products will depend on many factors, such as weather conditions, yield, as well as the situation on the front.
According to information from various supermarket chains in Ukraine, egg prices continue to change. In the popular Silpo supermarket chain, the cost of eggs varies from 62 to 200 hryvnias per pack, depending on the brand and category of the product. This is a significant increase compared to the prices of previous years.
In the Varus chain, egg prices also fluctuate. One chicken egg costs 6.35 hryvnias, which makes this product available to a wide range of buyers. A package of eggs from the company "Vid Dobroi Kurki" of the 2nd category will cost 47.90 hryvnias, and a package of eggs from "Yasensvit" of the 1st category (10 pieces) costs 63.90 hryvnias.
The supermarket "ATB" also presented its new prices. Chicken eggs from the company "Svoya Liniya" (10 pieces, the highest category) cost 50 hryvnias, and eggs from the company "Tse Yaytsy!" cost 54 hryvnias per package. This also reflects the general trend of rising food prices in Ukraine.
Economist and member of the Economic Discussion Club Oleg Pendzin notes that the increase in the price of eggs in 2025 is due to the increase in the cost of poultry feed. However, he also emphasizes that prices will depend on the results of the harvest. If weather conditions allow for a good harvest, the cost of eggs may remain stable or change slightly.
Egg prices are only part of the overall picture of food price increases in Ukraine expected in 2025. However, given the impact of various factors, it is difficult to accurately predict how prices for basic food products will develop next year. At the same time, consumers are advised to monitor prices and plan purchases accordingly.
