Despite a smaller harvest of late crops, the government predicts an increase in exports

In Ukraine, it is expected that the growth of agricultural exports will be one of the main factors of economic development in the coming months, despite the decrease in the harvest of late crops. This became known from the latest forecasts of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, which assesses the situation in the agricultural sector.

The deterioration in the yield of late crops, in particular corn, sunflower and soybeans, is the result of adverse weather conditions this year. A hot summer, lack of rain and high temperatures led to a decrease in the amount of products that were harvested. However, despite these difficulties, the government continues to predict an increase in agricultural exports for 2024.

According to experts, although the harvest of late crops decreased by 10-15%, this should not significantly affect the country's overall export potential. In particular, Ukraine is expected to increase exports of grains, oilseeds and other agricultural goods due to high demand in international markets.

The government also drew attention to the importance of diversifying export destinations. Ukraine continues to expand its trade relations with the EU, Asia and Africa. In particular, in recent months there has been an increase in exports to India and China, which are becoming important partners for Ukrainian farmers.

Increasing the efficiency of agricultural production is another important factor in increasing export opportunities. Ukraine is actively introducing new technologies and improving crop cultivation methods, which allows for higher-quality products. This not only improves the competitiveness of Ukrainian goods on the world market, but also contributes to the growth of farmers' incomes.

We should not forget about the role of state support for farmers. The government continues to provide financial assistance for the development of agriculture, which contributes to the modernization of production and increasing its efficiency. In particular, subsidy and credit programs allow farmers to update equipment, purchase new seeds and fertilizers, which increases yields even in difficult conditions.

Thus, despite the decrease in the yield of late crops, Ukraine has every chance to increase the export of agricultural products in 2024. This will be possible thanks to the diversification of markets, increased production efficiency, and support from the state.
