The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine has announced the launch of a new Ensoline Service, which is aimed at creating an electronic system of registers in the field of crop production. This initiative is intended to increase the transparency and efficiency in the field of seeds, planting and protection of plant varieties.
The decision to launch the service was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine during the last meeting, adopting Resolution No. 1309. The document is part of Ukraine's fulfillment of international legal obligations within the framework of European integration. According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the introduction of the system will allow to ensure full traceability in the field of seed and seating.
The Ensoline Service consists of several databases that are combined into the electronic system. Among the key registers:
- Register of applications;
- State Register of Plant varieties suitable for distribution in Ukraine;
- State register of patents for plant varieties;
- Register of representatives on intellectual property for plant varieties.
In addition, the service covers the registers stipulated by the Law of Ukraine "On Seeds and Planting Material". In particular, it is a register of seed and soaking subjects, a register of certification auditors (agronomists-inspectors), a register of certificates for seeds and planting material, as well as a register of conformity assessment bodies.
The innovation will allow you to automate the processes of certification, storage of plant varieties and access to information for stakeholders. This will help reduce bureaucratic barriers and increase European partners' trust.
The decree will officially come into force on December 1, 2024. The introduction of "ellstone" is expected to be an important step for harmonizing Ukrainian legislation with European standards and improving the work of the agricultural sector.
