The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a large-scale strategy for the development of agriculture and rural areas for the period until 2030. This document will become the basis for systemic reforms in the industry aimed at increasing its competitiveness, sustainability and harmonization with European standards.

The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vitaliy Koval announced the approval of the Strategy. He emphasized that a new approach to the development of the agricultural sector is not only an internal need, but also an important step in fulfilling the obligations of a candidate country for joining the European Union.

"This is a strategic document that defines the key vectors of the development of Ukrainian agriculture. The goal is to prepare the industry for integration with the EU, ensure its sustainable development and meet modern challenges," Koval said.

Among the main directions of the Strategy is ensuring the sustainable development of rural areas and creating conditions for the formation of a diversified agricultural sector. Special emphasis is placed on increasing food security, protecting the environment, preserving biodiversity, and mitigating the effects of climate change.

An operational plan of measures covering the period 2025-2027 has been developed for the realization of ambitious goals. The document also provides for the strengthening of the socio-economic infrastructure of rural areas aimed at improving the quality of life of the population.

The adoption of this Strategy is an important step in bringing Ukraine closer to the European agricultural model, which combines economic development with environmental responsibility. The government hopes that the implementation of the plan will stimulate investments, contribute to the modernization of the industry and increase its role in international cooperation.
